Creative Office Project Breaks Ground on East 12th (PHOTOS + RENDERINGS)

November 30, 2017 by Editor

The Next Door Creative Office project has broken ground on a 1-acre site on East 12th Street. The project is being developed and built  as “a response to the lack of studio work space in Austin for artists and creative professionals”, according to architect Pollen Architecture & Design.

There will be a total of five buildings on the site, ranging from 1-3 stories tall. According to documents filed with the city, the total gross square footage of office and art workshop space will be just over 24,000. An existing 29″ Post Oak tree will remain and will be protected during construction.

Pollen Architecture’s website states that the project will feature a network of rain gardens on the interior of the project, with the intent to “provide places for people to relax and cross paths.”

The developer is listed as Next Door Land Company LLC and the landscape architect is Ten Eyck Landscape Architects. We will bring you updates on this project as construction gets underway.
