Details are emerging about another residential tower planned for the Rainey Street area. The Austin American-Statesman is reporting that Lee Development & Construction (LD&C) is planning to build a residential tower in the booming area just southeast of downtown.
According to City of Austin records, a site development permit was issued in late April for the site at 48 East Avenue, just a stone’s throw away from the Rainey Street entertainment district. The small building on the site was formerly used as law offices.
Rising approximately 350 feet, the tower is planned to have 33 stories with 244 units (7 of which will be affordable). The developer has not yet decided whether the units will be for rent or for sale.
According to the Statesman article, LD&C has chosen Bartlett Cocke as their general contractor for the project. The architect is STG Design and the Landscape Architect is dwg. Bartlett Cocke is based in San Antonio and both design firms are based in Austin.
A building permit application was filed with the City in early July, and construction financing has not yet been secured by the developer. BuildingATX will bring you updates on this project as they become available.
