Construction is moving at a rapid clip in The Domain in North Austin, with several office space projects in the works or under construction, including plans to construct two new office towers.
Endeavor Real Estate Group, which is developing buildings Domain 11 and Domain 12 with Dallas-based Tier REIT, said recently that those two buildings will total 618,000 square feet of office space in the north end of The Domain.
According to the Austin Business Journal Domain 11 will span 312,024 square feet and be 15 stories tall, and Domain 12, at 306,881 square feet, will be 17 stories tall. The new buildings will take shape close to the offices that hold HomeAway Inc. and WeWork, as well as the Whole Foods Market store. Both buildings are also seeking LEED Silver designations.
At the other end of The Domain, the Domain Tower, a joint venture by Stonelake Capital Partners and HPI Real Estate Services & Investments, and Domain 8 – also being developed by Endeavor and Tier REIT – are both under construction. Domain 8’s tenants will include Amazon.com and Facebook Inc. News of those leases made waves when they were announced in January. Amazon will be moving from another Domain space, while Facebook will be moving from its current downtown space at 300 W. Sixth Street.
Stonelake is also planning a five-story, 372-unit apartment building with Streetlights Residential, Flatiron | Domain, that is scheduled to break ground this year.
