Construction Update: Fourth& (PHOTOS + VIDEO)

November 3, 2016 by Editor

A mixed-use project with 97 residential units and 42,000 square feet of commercial space is rising quickly on the corner of East 4th and Chicon Streets in East Austin. The appropriately-named Fourth& project broke ground in late 2015.

Crews are currently assembling the precast concrete parking garage, while the first elevated concrete deck is being formed and poured around it.

Local developer Capsa Ventures has hired several local firms including Delineate Studio, Forge Craft Architecture + Design, BIG RED DOG Engineering, and Leap!Structures to bring the project to life. MadNic Construction is the general contractor.

The northern edge of the project includes an extension of the Lance Armstrong Bikeway (similar to the adjacent Eastside Station project and as seen in the rendering above). Other on-site amenities include a pool, conference room, community guest rooms, a dog wash area, and electric vehicle charging stations.

Originally scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016, this project is now projecting a late 2017 delivery. Check out our previous coverage of this project here.
