Officials with Texas Mutual Insurance Company announced today that they will consolidate offices and build a new headquarters in Mueller.
The workers’ comp provider unveiled plans for a 270,000-sf office building (including 20,000-sf of ground floor retail) situated on Aldrich Street between Philomena Street and the future Garcia Street. It will become a part of Mueller’s Aldrich Street district, which is planned to have an Alamo Drafthouse, hotel, restaurants and entertainment when fully built out.
Catellus Development, the master developer for Mueller, will oversee the construction of the 4-story building. Studio8 Architects is handling the building’s design. According to a statement, the building’s contractor has not yet been chosen.
“Mueller is becoming known as its own commercial trade area, thanks to our abundance of national and local retailers, restaurants and now office tenants. With Texas Mutual, we have another stellar employer anchor that understands the value of a mixed-use community like Mueller,” Greg Weaver, executive vice president of Catellus, said in a statement.
Texas Mutual will become the third company to be based in the master-planned community along with Seton Family Healthcare and American Institutes of Research. The building is anticipated to break ground in spring 2017, with a mid-2018 delivery target.
