August 18, 2015 by Editor

If you believe everything you read, you know by now that 110 people move to the booming Austin region every single day. While not all of the 110 people settle within the city limits, those that do will soon have a few more food and drink options in East Austin. Here’s a rundown of some of the restaurants and bars under construction on the Eastside as of August 2015:

A former screenprinting shop at 1802 E. 6th Street is being transformed into Rainey pioneer Bridget Dunlap’s newest concept called Burn. Self-described as “casual Italian with an East Austin vibe,” Burn will open in September, their Facebook page.

At the Corazon mixed-use project, the new izakaya and sushi restaurant Fukumoto is wrapping up construction at the corner of 6th and Medina. Eater reports that it is set to open by the end of August.

Quickie Pickie

A second location of Quickie Pickie is being built at the former El Aguacate Food Mart (Anthony St. & E. Cesar Chavez), according to documents filed with the city. The original location at 1208 E. 11th is Street describes itself as “part convenience grocery, part café, part beer joint.” No word on an opening date for this location, yet.

Dog & Duck Pub

The new location of the Dog & Duck Pub (formerly located at Guadalupe and W. 17th Street) is under construction at 2400 Webberville. The award-winning British pub and restaurant opened at its original location in 1990 and shuttered in late 2014 to make way for new development.
