The newest downtown Austin condo project has released renderings and announced that it will begin taking reservations in August. The Austin Proper is a residential and hotel development slated to open in late 2017 on Nueces Street in the Green Water Treatment Plant redevelopment.
Austin Proper Residences will include 100 condo units, the price of which remain undisclosed for now. The units will range from 850 square feet to 2,800 square feet, and penthouses from 3,300 square feet to 6,000 square feet. The residences are part of a 35-floor development that also includes the 250-room Austin Proper Hotel.
The project will include restaurants and a coffee shop, all of which will be run by the McGuire Moorman Hospitality Group. That group’s restaurants also include Lambert’s, Perla’s, Elizabeth Street Café, and Clark’s Oyster Bar.
The Kor Group is the developer of the new project, together with Proper Hospitality. Handel Architects LLP is the architect for the Proper, and designer Kelly Wearstler is designing the interiors of the hotel and residences. Trammell Crow is the master developer of the Green redevelopment.
An office building and high-rise apartment are also under construction in the Green redevelopment. Nearby, another luxury condo project, The Independent, just announced that 90 percent of its units have been reserved.
