Rainey Report: The Evolution Continues (PHOTOS)

March 27, 2015 by Editor

Everyone knows that the Rainey Street district is constantly changing. Huge new developments are planned or under construction between the cozy bungalows containing bars and restaurants. BuildingATX took a stroll down Rainey to check out what’s new as of March 2015:

Renovations at Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden continue, where their new (larger) awning in their porch area appears to be complete. Also, the lot next door (79 Rainey “Building C”) has a TABC application notice posted with their name on it . Is Banger’s swallowing up that lot as well?

No word yet on plans for this house at 88 Rainey, but development firm Rainey Ventures has a sign up. We may see some action soon:

Next door at 88 1/2 Rainey, improvements look to be wrapping up at L’Estelle Kitchen House and Yard, which is “a french inspired bistro on Rainey Street… opening Summer 2015”, according to their Facebook page.

The anticipated return of Lustre Pearl is getting closer to reality, as the house at 94 Rainey is reduced to just the original front facade.

Meanwhile, the Hotel Van Zandt and Millennium projects continue. They are set to open in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Let us know what you think of the constantly-changing Rainey St. district in the comments below!
