22-Story Residential Tower Set to Break Ground at 8th & Nueces
A proposed tower at 8th & Nueces will be the next major residential project to start downtown.
Austin-based Aspen Heights, who traditionally develops student housing communities across the company under the same name, will break ground this summer on this 22-story apartment building. This is the company’s first project in Austin, and first conventional multifamily development according to an article in the Austin Business Journal.

The development is proposed to have 196 units with amenities such as a fitness center, rooftop pool, and dog park. In addition, there are live-work units proposed for the ground floor. Below are some images presented to the City late last year:
Austin-based Rhode Partners is the architect, and JE Dunn is the general contractor. Work should start this summer.
