Gables Park Tower Construction Wraps Up (PHOTOS)

March 25, 2014 by Editor

Though construction is still wrapping up, new residents have already moved into the new Gables Park Tower high-rise project in downtown Austin.

The tower, located at 111 Sandra Muraida Way, has 18 levels and more than 200 rental units.

Last May, it was reported that the project’s parking garage was designed higher than allowed by the Capitol View Corridor on the site. The re-design of the garage may be the reason that it lags behind the tower and is yet to be completed. You can see the photos of the status of the project in the gallery below:

This area of downtown is a hotbed of construction activity. Just north of the Gables tower is The Bowie (aka 3 Eleven Bowie aka 311 Bowie). Heading East, you have the Seaholm Redevelopment, New Central Library, and the Green Water Treatment Plant redevelopment projects all underway and under construction.

This area of downtown is beginning to become a dense residential district; in the background of the two Gables projects is The Bowie under construction, flanked by the Spring and The Monarch.

How do you think all of the projects north of Lady Bird Lake (including the Gables Park Tower) are affecting downtown Austin? Be sure to leave your comments below!
