Unique Condo Development Rises in South Austin (PHOTOS)

A unique 119-unit condo development is taking shape smack-dab in the middle of the 78704.

In the works for several years and under construction since the summer of 2012, The Denizen aims to attract residents that want to be close to the urban core while enjoying amenities like dog parks, a community garden, and community green space.

Skybeck Construction is building the multi-phase project on an 8.5-acre site located at Cumberland Road and South Fifth Street in south Austin, just two miles south of downtown. Skybeck is also part of the development team, which also consists of Terry Mitchell and Bill Skeen. DWG Urban Landscape Architecture is the projects landscape architect.

The project will feature 1- and 2-bedroom units, and anticipates a four-star rating from the Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) program when complete.
