Waller Park Place Moving Forward?

December 2, 2013 by Editor

Earlier this year, there was some buzz about a mixed-use mega project in the Rainey district called the Waller Center. It now appears that developers are moving forward with the early stages of making it a reality – and they are now calling it Waller Park Place.

Last week, Downtown Austin Blog reported that the developers submitted a site plan to the City of Austin for review. The City will now determine whether the development complies with the Land Development Code. Reviewers will examine several aspects of the project such as traffic impacts, zoning, and environmental impact.

Our rough mockup showing the proposed project’s rendering and the surrounding area.

The proposed project consists of three towers for residential, hotel, office, and retail use.

Does this mean that the 1.4-million square foot mixed-use project will become a reality? Only time will tell. There are many other factors that will determine whether this project will ever get built. BuildingATX will keep you updated on the latest.
