If you have been on Riverside just east of I-35 lately, you have probably noticed the major transformation taking place. The area just south of Lady Bird Lake is ripe for redevelopment as aging strip-malls and fast food joints are slowly turning into a mix of multifamily buildings with ground-floor retail.
The South Shore District is a project being developed by Houston-based Grayco Partners. When complete, it will consist of three cleverly-named phases: One (completion in Summer 2013), Two (Late 2013), and Three (Early 2014). At completion, there will be more than 500 new residential units.
We stopped by recently to check out the project’s construction. The building that looks the furthest along is obviously One South Shore District:
It looks like there will be ground-floor retail in all three phases. No confirmation yet on any of the retail tenants.
